Public Auditing Programme in District Headquarter, Musikot Khalanga
One day program titled “Samikcya Tatha Sarbajanik Lekha Parichyan” was conducted in the meeting hall of Karmachari Milan Kendra in Musikot Khalanga Rukum on 21st July 2015. The programme was conducted in the Chairmanship of Mr. Putak Chand (Chairman of Concern Center For Rural Youth). In this programme total 85 numbers of participants, representing from different political parties, civil society, social workers, government officials, businessmen, local organizations, teachers, journalists and local people were present. The chief guest of this programme was Mr. Khemman Khadka (ex-Chairman of DDC of Rukum).
Training for the conservation of Yarsagumba in Sishne, Maikot and Hukam of Rukum
Yarsagumba (Ophiocordycepssinensis) is highly valuable bio-resource of Trans-Himalayan region fetching high price in International market. It shows immense effects on the lifestyle and economic status of inhabitants of those high altitude villages where it is found naturally. It is up to estimated that 25 districts of Nepal have been distributed with Yarsagumba. In Rukum Sishne, Hukam, Maikot, Taksera are the main villages where people are mostly depended on Yarsagumba collection and trade. Yarsagumba is providing an economic benefit to the local people and aiding to promote livelihood of Himalayan region as well as to the Government of Nepal.
Management and Operation of cooperatives in Sisne, Maikot and Hukam VDCs of Rukum District
There is huge price gap between local collectors and the final market passing through long market chain in the study areas Sisne, Maikot and Hukam VDCs of Rukum District . Local people has weak sharing in the profit due to lack of collective management efforts. In lack of alternative areas of investments, earned money is being used in unproductive consumption like alcohol, gambling and prostitution. So, there is ultimate need of establishing finance centres to save their savings. These micro-finance mechanisms would help generating collective efforts from harvesters to decrease the roles of middleman’s to approach the market.
Training Report for Leadership Development in Agriculture Enterprise Development
A bi-lateral agreement has been signed between the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Government of Nepal (GoN/ MOAD) on December 2, 2012 to implement Kisankalagi Unnat Biu-Bijan Karyakram (Improved Seeds for Farmers Programme) to be implemented in Gulmi, Arghakhachi Rukum, Rolpa, Salyan and Pyuthan districts of Nepal aiming to translate AEC competences in BDS in agriculture sector to district level institutions through expansion and enhancement of activities in business enabling environment.
National Level Workshop On Sustainable Harvesting of Yarsagumba and Alternative Livelihood Promotion
The workshop titled National Level Workshop on Sustainable Harvesting of Yarsagumba and Alternative Livelihood Promotion was conducted on July 7, 2015 in Sangrilla Hotel, Kathmandu. Various experts, team members, stakeholders, responsible persons, politicians and locals from Rukum Districts were present in the workshop of about 4 hours. The programme was started from the Video Documentary showing prepared by the organization titled “The Yarsa Cycle”. After documentary the programme was started from the welcome and introduction of Chief guests. Welcome speech was given by Mr. Deependra Khadka, secretary of CCFRY.
Organizing Discussion Programme in Musikot Municipality (Khalanga, Rukum)
On December 25, 2014, interaction programme was organized in the Hall of District Development Committee. 103 participants representing political parties, civil society, social workers, government officials, businessmen, teachers, journalists and participants from Project area (Hukam, Ranmamaikot andSisne) were present in the programme. This programme was chaired by the Local Development Officer of Rukum Mr Bharat Kumar Sharma. In the programme, Knowledge Management Officer Ms Renu Napit presented the power points on Introduction of Yarsagumba and impact of climate change on the production of Yarsagumba.
