Dr. Shalik Ram Dhital

Public Health Advisor

Dr. Shalik Dhital is a young health promotion specialist, currently affiliated with Concern Center for Rural Youth, Nepal. He has been serving as the Advisor of this organization. He has achieved his PhD in Public Health and Behavioural Sciences degree from Australia in 2021. He also obtained Master of Science in Public Health (Health Promotion) from Denmark in 2010. Dr. Dhital has excellent working experience in health program planning, successful implementation and monitoring, and evaluation. He is directly involved in the program of the Ministry of Health and Population, National Health Education, Information and Communication Center Nepal for Tobacco control and regulation initiatives, SAFER Initiatives, WASH promotion, Risk communication and infodemic for COVID-19 and Health system strengthening and research. He has been responsible for facilitating training, workshop, seminar and conference. He has good knowledge and skills in curriculum development, teaching health promotion and public health subjects for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, developing communication media and methods, and delivering them effectively. Dr. Dhital has a good understanding of the WHO and UN agencies’ working strategies and their roles in the government system.

In the research field, he has developed his career and conducted both qualitative and quantitative studies. He has conceptualized, and designed research projects, conducted literature reviews, and undertaken data analysis, reference management, and manuscript writing, proposal writing, grant writing and thematic report writing, PowerPoint preparation, and the use of MS Word and STATA software are further skills. He has published more than two Dozens of scientific articles from national and international journals and three textbooks related to public health are published. His key competencies are working with diverse cultures and individuals, good teamwork, good oral and written communication skills, identification of resources and their mobilization, promoting culture, considering ethics, and showing respect.
