Public Auditing Programme in District Headquarter, Musikot Khalanga

One day program titled “Samikcya Tatha Sarbajanik Lekha Parichyan” was conducted in the meeting hall of Karmachari Milan Kendra in  Musikot Khalanga Rukum on 21st July 2015. The programme was conducted in the Chairmanship of  Mr. Putak Chand (Chairman of Concern Center  For Rural Youth). In this programme total 85 numbers of participants, representing from different political parties, civil society, social workers, government officials, businessmen, local organizations, teachers, journalists and local people were present.  The chief guest of this programme was Mr. Khemman Khadka (ex-Chairman of DDC of Rukum). Guests like Mr. Rajendra Nepal (Administration and Plan Officer of DDC of Rukum), Mr. Tara Prasad Sharma (representative of District Administration Office), Mr. Tek Bahadur of Pun (Chairman Udhyog Banijya Mahasangh) and who is also the chairman of District Committee of Rukum were present with great efforts. Political representatives like, Mr. Hari Prasad Sharma Secretary of  CPNUM of Rukum, Mr. Subodh Sherpali from Moist  Party and Khadka Dangi from Nepali Congress were also present in the programme. The main objective of the programme was to present financial progress report of the Project period 2071/072. The financial progress report was presented by financial Officer of Concern Center For Rural Youth, Mr. Laxman KC.

In the Programme, Chairman of Concern Center  For Rural Youth,  Mr. Putak Chand described briefly about  the main objectives and goals of the project. He explained about the activities and achievements of the projects. He also expressed about the challenges overcome  during the project’s activities implementation like doubts on the local people about any kind of project, expensive travelling cost, insecurity and geographical difficulties in the area. He said that the main learning of the the project are- the need of sustainable conservation of such a valuable medicinal product like Yarsagumba and need of national level appropriate policies, rules and regulation for its conservation. After his presentation Documentary  “The Yarsa Cyle” was also shown in the programme.

The participants of the programme gave their own views on the need of conservation of Yarsagumba. The chief guest Mr. Khemman Khadka expressed that trade of Yarsagumaba is the main economic source of the local people of  upper Rukum, and  this project has been   pioneer for the conservation of Yarsagumba. The activities like trainings, published materials like book, pamphlets, hoarding boards, awaring programmes broadcasted in local FM stations have been very effective and positive  for the local area as well as in national level . The documentary produced by the project team has been remarkable achievement of the research and believe that it would be a pioneer help for the developing  common legal framework and enforce laws by the Government.

The programmer was facilitated by Mr. Bhimraj Oli , vice-chairman of the Concern Center  For Rural Youth. The programme had been  very successful in the point view the participants
